what the fuck is wrong with this game
i'm trying to follow 100% guide and it's impossible to do i don't have the money to carry out what guide says, and i didn't get some mentioned events
if it's too hard to play following a guide you should just play something else
>>378963829
Just play the game normally your first time. If you still wanna do a 100% run after that then do it on NG+.
>>378963829
Should've been grinding more on the Tartarus days.
Or save 100% for the second playthrough. P3FES is pretty strict about scheduling.
>>378963829
You suck at reading then?
I don't know what to tell you.
You literally came here to complain how you can't follow a 100% guide for an old game.
>>378963829
100% is meant for second playthrough.
just play normally and chill
Don't try to do 100% on your first run, just don't. I'm sorry, this isn't P4 or P5.
>>378963829
Youre talking about the arcade games etc. to max courage right? You dont have to take those every day. Go to the nurse whenever you can, catch the movie that adds courage, and you should be able to max it in time.
The guides ive seen aren't entirely accurate
>playing PSF
>not PSP
ISHYGDDT
>>378964392
You should only play PSP after Fes though.
>>378965207
>slogging through tartarus twice
>>378965515
Eh, it's not so bad if you're doing it passivelyon easywhile having the tv on in the background or listening to podcasts
>>378963829
As someone who did the NG max SLink run, it is definitely super hard.
You're probably not bringing a matching persona to SLinks.
More importantly stop using a fucking guide on your first playthrough, faggot.
>>378963829
why do people like these games? most of your time is spend battling over and over and over and over
Anyone who plays Persona 3, 4, and 5 with the mindset of doing everything on the first run is missing the point. Did you do everything in high school?
>>378963829
You don't even need a guide you fuckhead, you fucking suck
>>378966743
>You're probably not bringing a matching persona to SLinks.
Wait, what? I'm playing though this the 1st time, the persona you have equipped outside of Tartarus matters other than going to the arcade for stats? I'm 70h in and had absolutely no clue.
>>378966982
I would if i had a guide
>>378965515
>having to complete it anyway
>>378966982
>try to max every slink on my first playthrough of P4
>no guides or anything
>end up only maxing out 3 slinks by the end of the game
>Nanako was at fucking 9
Terrible mistakes were made.
>>378967092
Oh, bless your heart.
You get more music notes during SLinks, which often makes the difference between them leveling up next time or not, especially for the higher ranks.
>>378967239
>not being able to fuck nanako
That was the only mistake in that game
>>378967384
del
>>378967239
Same thing happened to me with P3, no one was lower than 8, but few were 10; I really fucked up.
>>378967352
I had no idea, did I just miss something in-game entirely about that mechanic or was I supposed to read a guide or some shit? I went in pretty much completely blind, though I just want to play the game normally, not 100% it or anything.
>>378967747
I honestly don't know how you missed it. If you ever had a matching Arcana Persona in your set while S.Linking, the game says something like "because you have the Persona (whatever), you may bond more easily."
P3 is hell to 100% social links in your first run. P4 and P5 are much much easier.
>>378967907
Wait, I know that. Is that it? I thought you meant that the selected Persona has to be of the same Arcana, not that I just need to have one equipped in my set with me.
>>378968125
It just needs to be in your set, not equipped. But you better have one of the appropriate Arcana for every single rank past 2 in all Links aside from Devil, and pick all the right answers, or you won't make it.
>>378963829
Just play the game without a guide then go back and do the shit you missed on another playthrough
I could not get into FES. I loved P3 though.
>>378968241
Yeah I knew about that, I just misunderstood what you've said. I doubt I'll max out all SLinks though, I'm in September and I feel like I've neglected a lot of them, I've only got 2 maxed and it feels like I'm close to the end of the game now. I don't mind, I'm not the kind to rigidly follow some guide the first time I go through a game. I'm doing well enough to have an easy time through Tartarus thus far anyway.
If I've maxed out Academics, is there any reason to study at night? Is there some hidden bonus or requirement regarding exams or anything like that?
>>378969150
Nope. Go out and work on your charm /courage instead.
>>378969150
There isn't any benefit if you've already maxed Academics.
Max Academics lets you start Mitsuru's social links and makes it more likely to ace the exams, just that.
>>378968487
>September
>close to the end
Not to get too spoiler-y, but the game proper ends on Jan 31.
>>378963829
Yr bad at video games m8
It's ok, but don't hurt yourself trying to be hardcore to be in the cool crowd
it's all about thefun
It's very easy to beat FES on a clean file with penguinknight's guide, BUT you need to understand the game well enough. So, don't do it on your very first playthrough.
Speaking of that guide, why does he start the Moon social link so fucking late? You can start it early and since he's in the non-school SL list, he doesn't get in the way of anything.
>>378969332
I've got all stats maxed, guess it's just SLinks and Tartarus grind for me then, since going to the arcade for Persona stats doesn't seem to be worth it since Tartarus has been fairly easy anyway.
>>378969483
I tried to start Mitsuru's SLink by talking to her in the hallway, but she didn't react in any special way. I'm assuming I need to wait for some story-trigger since I was able to start Yukari's and Fuuka's links that way.
>>378969547
So I've still got a bit of time for SLinks then, I should manage to get some more to max rank then.
>>378969964
You have to ace a test before Mitsuru will slink with you.
>>378970118
I see, is it even possible to ace the 1st or 2nd exams? I imagine it has to be nearly impossible to max Academics by then and I got all the questions right the 2nd time around and only got "top 10" results.
>>378970520
By trying to rush it you'll have other S Links suffer greatly, there's plenty of time to stick your dick in her later, don't be hasty
>he plays a game with guides
Why do people do this?
>>378971216
They're completionist fags who would rather 100% a game than actually play it.
>>378971089
I didn't really try to rush it, Academics is actually the last stat I maxed out.
What do you mean 100%? Max SLinks? You have tons of free time during summer to make up for losses at the beginning and you'll max out your stats before you'll put them to use.
Man P5 is so piss easy to max every confidant in 1 run.
>>378971981
It's true, people seem to forget you have like two weeks worth of optional movie dates that you can use to progress non-school social links.
>>378963829
Just play SMT, it's better game without faggy S-links.
>>378964283
>danganronpa and persona
>a shitty VN crossing over with a good RPG
Please don't do this
>>378973726
What does that image have to do with Danganronpa? I just think it looks neat.
>>378973872
they're dressed as DR characters
>>378974023
Oh, I guess they are. Huh, never even noticed that, and I played both games. Then again, if they were dressed as DR2 characters I would probably notice because DR1 was really forgettable.
>>378973872
You didn't catch that? Byakuya was subtle, but the junko is a dead giveaway.
Did they fuck?
>>378965207
Pretty much this, play Portable only after FES and for the novelty of FeMC

>>378975676
>pre-sex shower
Absolutely disgusting.
>>378977178
>>378963829
Eh, it's not worth 100% anyway.
Just try to use up every moment of every day and you'll find you'll have not much to do by the end of Summer.
>>378977493
only looks good in the movies
>>378977772
Yeah, Mitsuru looks great in both though
P3F is the Persona game of the 3 newer games that was not designed to get 100% social links and max social stats in one playthrough. You're basically only meant to get 100% social links for your party members and 100% social stats, while progressing a bit in other social links too.
NG+ is where you max out your social links.
100% playthrough 1 either requires an insane amount of planning and luck (since you shouldn't know what to expect beforehand for certain special days), or it requires you to use a guide, so it's not advised. P4 (non G) is similar but a bit easier to max in playthrough 1, though still requires a fair degree of luck. P4G and P5 are the first games really designed so that, as long as you're not being stupid and you're finishing dungeons in one go when social links aren't available, you should get 100%.
>>378977493
>Visual Design
>Junpei
>>378978365
>>378966982
But I did in P5 pretty easily, the only thing I ever used a guide for were Slink answers because fuck Slink answers giving out different point values it's retarded and it encourages a very streamlined answering process.
>>378978365
They knew, he truly is da man
>>378978961
>Slink answers giving out different point values it's retarded and it encourages a very streamlined answering process.
I like to think of them as a test to see how well you know the person and if you're paying attention, but they don't always work out that way.
>>378979142
There are a lot of retarded S-link answers which give you more points because it leads to you finding something out you couldn't have possibly known.
There are also S link answers where you try to cheer someone up or accept them for what they are that lead to nothing. It's a very shitty system.
Slinks would be infinitely better if it just let you freely choose what you want to choose. Beep boop is a great example of a fun answer that perfectionists won't choose, because it makes you miss out on +3 for Makoto, which is an entire action of spending time with her.
>>378978953
>>378979505
Why the fuck would you use a guide on your first playthrough?
>>378977967
>You're basically only meant to get 100% social links for your party members and 100% social stats, while progressing a bit in other social links too.
What? You can only start to unlock party member SLinks fairly late into the game once you maxed out your social stats, there's a huge chunk of the game where you don't even have specific party member links and you'll make significant progress in some of the others unless you purposefully ignore them or something.
>>378977967
Your party members don't have social links in 3FES. Only the girls and it does nothing for them in battle.
Is Orpheus Telos worth it?
>>378963829
Just play the 50 hour RPG on NG+, Anon
>>378980834
I fused a perfect Orpheus Telos and Jesus Christ did that take some major autism on my part. Orpheus Telos is nostly a completionist thing if you ask me. Good for fighting Elizabeth.
>>378981116
What did he have? I'd be surprised there'd be a moveset that everyone can agree to be perfect.
>>378966982
Those people also totally miss the point of agreeing to the contract. "I take full responsibility of my choices, except I don't and just follow a guide".
>>378973726
>Persona 3
>a good RPG
I genuinely hope you aren't serious.
>>378973726
jrpgs are just or shit you like
>>378981545
Fair enough, but pretty optimal for Elizabeth.
Fire amp
Fire boost
Ragnarok
Salvation
Spell master
Mind Charge
Unshaken will
High counter
>>378982006
I hope you aren't serious, that's a pretty shit opinion.
>>378981545
>>378982274
Different guy here, the elemental attack can be whatever you want. I personally used Thunder Reign just in case you were ever considering fighting Elizabeth.
>>378978365
>>378983712
Only reason I chose Ragnarok was because Orpheus started with agi and it seemed appropriate. I can imagine there are elements that are generally easier to squeeze in between her immunitets though.
>>378984007
Oh I get it. I just didn't want the other guy to have a situation where he gets a Severe level elemental spell but then resets because it isn't the right one since he'd be doing Elizabeth blind and wouldn't know that it doesn't really matter.
>all these fags saying to do it on NG+
Right, let me just play an 80-90 hour game and then replay it again right after finishing it just to do a few things I could've done the first time.
Of course you can't fight Elizabeth on your first playthrough, but whatever. It's just one fucking boss.
What if every character in P5 was genderbent and female Kamoshida raped male students?
>>378984340
If Elizabeth is "whatever" then why aren't the slinks you don't manage to max out "whatever"? If you only have time for one playthrough then do that one playthrough blind and look up anything you missed on youtube instead of ruining your first experience by following an extremely specific guide.
>>378968335
How is that even possible? FES is better in all respects.
>>378984690
SLinks actually matter. There are Personae you cant fuse if you dont level up the SLs, level boosts from the Social Link level, etc. Lot of things that actually impact gameplay.
If it were just about the scenes, of course Youtube would be a better option.
And I'm not defending OP, I'm just saying I understand why he would use a guide. It does make the game a lot less fun tho.
>>378982006
>>378984340
You CAN fight Elizabeth on your first playthrough. or am I crazy?
>>378984381
For once, genderbent characters that don't look exactly like their counterparts? Good shit.
All of the early post-release discussions would be filled with "god I wish that were me" fags.
>>378985695
Pretty sure you can't. Not in FES at least. Velvet attendant is pretty much always locked to NG+.
>>378985695
>>378985865
You actually can in FES and Portable. You just couldn't do it in the original version
>>378985991
It seems you're right that only vanilla had that requirement. I could've sworn it was NG+ only in FES as well. I guess I just didn't accept the quest because I knew I didn't have the means to fight her yet.
>>378982559
>>378985532
The fact that Tartarus exists prevents any sort of "persona 3 is a good RPG"
No good RPG has only randomized dungeons that are not even handcrafted.
>>378987190
That's stupid. You're stupid.
Playing P3 for the first time and I cant get the fucking battle theme out of my head.
Trying to fuck the brown track team girl.
>>378987190
I dunno man, Shiren, Dark Cloud, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Reccetear, .Hack, are all good and dont depend on hand crafted dungeons.
>>378987881
That's what Persona music does to you.
It's one of those series where hearing a song from OST brings up memories even after years since playing.
>>378963829
what kind of fag plays a game with a guide?
>>378987881
Damn P3 is its stupid surprisingly catchy music.
>>378974589
>tfw in P3P it's Akihiko in the shower and he just strolls out and straight up asks to fuck like a madman
>>378988734
So if you play as FeMC Akihiko will force his way into the mission instead of Yukari?
People say I'm better off watching the good parts of FES rather than playing through it.

I have this problem with most JRPGs I try to use guides for. I'll get 10 hours in and it'll tell me to use an item, I won't have the item, and it'll turn out it was a missable thing from 2 hours into the game that the guide never mentioned. Shit like that always happens with these things. I chalk it up to these games being long, many people writing their guides based on the Japanese versions of the games, or honestly people not giving enough of a shit while making a guide and just skipping or even making shit up sometimes.
