It's from gen 3, which is before most 4chan posters were old enough to hold a controller. You'll notice around here the praise is mostly for gen 4 and 5, because that's what they grew up with.

I never played Gale of Darkness only Colosseum. I liked the setting, but the pokemon selection was pretty weak.

I wish GoD became a bigger success of a game, it's my favorite 3D Pokemon of all time. I can see some of the reasons why some people don't like it; the pacing and how the Shadow Pokemon are integrated, but goddamn does the game still has one of the best composing of what feels like a Pokemon game done right in 3D, just feel those interactions, the MUSIC.

I'll never feel as disappointed as I did with "Battle Revolution" not being the GoD 2 that I wanted for years to happen. And even getting AS&OM I'm still pissed I'll never get my HD 3D model of May I've been waiting for all my life. Everything just hasn't worked out for me with Pokemon for quite some time now. The rest of the soundtrack is good, like Pyrite Town or Phenac City, but Miror B is just the most goddamn memorable and everyone loves it. No one thinks any other song is more memorable than that one, so it's the first one to post every time.

Colosseum had better shadow Pokemon and a better protag, that was about it.
The ones in XD you could already get in FireRed/LeafGreen or Emerald, and the special moves they got upon purifying were some really dumb shit, like Marowak with Sing.

I've played every game since R/B/Y at the time of release (or close to it).

I think gen 4 and 5 were good, B2 probably being the best in the series to date.
