The endings of Deus Ex are really just the three extremes, all of which have major benefits and major consequences. you can choose to reestablish the illuminati ass the main shadow government and work along side them to bring order and peace, but then you become a hypocrite since that is what you were fighting to destroy the entire time. You can destroy all the worlds technology ensuring that everyone would have freedom, but then technology is destroyed and humanity will have to rebuild. You can take control of the world yourself but in the end give up what humanity and freedom you have left to bind yourself to the position. I think Ion storm Texas did a great job making these endings hard to choose from
