This. Bleat of the Shit is unironically the worst game of 2017 and is basically the No Man's Sky of Zelda. Of course it isn't considered that by the gaming MSM because, say it with me now, "it's okay when Nintendo does it!"

This game made me lose faith in gaming, especially when the far superior Horizon came out just days before it and was ignored by /v/intendoGAF because "eww girls are icky!"

I didn't lose faith because I didn't put much stock in what was looking increasingly like the open world games I avoid but I was disappointed to have my fears realized and BotW has done nothing to make me appreciate this kind of game more.

The starter dungeons were weak but they are in almost every 3D Zelda, but I think you're crazy I'd you didn't like the Earth, Wind, and Tower of the Gods.

What dungeons are you comparing them to when you think "cheap knock off"?

Most all of them. Tower of the Gods is fine in its second half but the forced water level shifting in the first half slows the pacing to a crawl, it's no fun doing a block puzzle on to sit around with both thumbs up your ass waiting for the water to drop back down again. Earth Temple's concepts are there but a bit undercooked, neither Medli nor the Mirror Shield feel especially creative in their utilization and pacing also takes a hit whenever Medli gets caught by a Floormaster because running back 5 rooms to get her again sure is nice. Wind Temple has probably the best outright dungeon design but the samey interior and lugging Makar around drag it down considerably and I ultimately find it to be a bore upon revisits. The closest thing to a WW dungeon that I actually like is Forbidden Woods and that's just because the Deku Leaf is cool.
