I'm upgrading from a shitty laptop to a desktop computer and was wondering if these are the best parts for my buck. My budget limit is 600 dollars.

I probably should have said: I already have a monitor, mouse, keyboard, and HDD.
>>
>>378923348
You might wanna be willing to shell out a little more and jump to the i5. It's worth it, I promise.
>>
>>378923348
Look at the /pcbg/ thread on /g/.

Be warned that you'll probably be made fun of for using an i3.

Also, where the fuck is your hard drive and OS.
>>
>>378926497
Oh wait. Kind of never mind on that last comment. >>378923407

Still, you need to budget for an OS
>>
>>378923348
I mean, for 600 bucks you'll surely get something much better than your laptop, but why not wait a bit and save up some more, and get something actually good?

>>378926607
This, also remember to spend at least 35% of your total budget on pop tarts.

>Getting an i3
If you're this strapped for cash, you might as well get a cheaper case and cheaper fans and put the money towards an i5.

Those things will be much cheaper to replace than a cpu.

Ryzen 1500

I3s are not worth buying
>>
>>378923348
>i3
you are doing it wrong
>>
>>378923348
Another thing to note is that that RAM you chose is a little expensive imo. I was able to get 8GB of DDR4 2400 RAM for like $50ish bucks.
>>
650w power supply might be a tad overkill. See what the price is for a 550w that is modular. Pc components are getting less and less power hungry nowadays

Get a pentium g4560 and a radeon 470 if you're going with a budget build.

The 1050ti is very weak and you can expect less than 60fps in some games if you're going for high settings. Pentium g4560 has hyperthreading so it performs just as well as an entry line i3 at a lesser price.

And you could find a much cheaper PSU for like 30-40 dollars that is still quality, that one is overkill for a budget build.

Here's a good budget build that's under $500 and would perform better than what you have there.

the HAF 912 is a shitty meme. I hate mine, it collects dust like crazy. Get a more enclosed case
>>

Who does this
>>
>>378929684
Well, I mean, you could pirate too but still, that's something to consider.

I'd save until you have 800$ and at the very least move up to an i5, newer games are getting much more cpu dependent and 2 cores will be limiting for newer games. Also get two 4gb ram sticks unless you're planning to buy another 8gb stick.

I have a PC business and this guy knows what he is talking about. I even benchmarked this CPU and 470. This is the performance you can expect in games here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yN2T2LwQ98&t

Wait for Ryzen 3 to get 4c/4t at the same price point, or switch it to a Pentium G4560 to get about the same performance as the i3 for about $50 cheaper. Or bump up to a Ryzen 5 after you account for the following changes:

That power supply is super overkill. Even if you're looking to use the same Gold-rated fully modular one for years, you won't need more than 500-550w unless you're planning on Crossfire/SLI (which you shouldn't because multi-GPU is stupid) The 550w version of the Supernova G3 is $80 with no rebate at Superbiiz.

That RAM is overpriced, there are $55 single-DIMM kits on Newegg, get one of those instead even if they don't have a fancy heatspreader.

If you decide to save your money by getting the Pentium, then use the savings I just gave you to bump the GPU up to a 580.
>>
>these /v/lebs still recommending recommending Intel after Ryzen was released

This is how it works anon.

>G4560 if you're an absolute poorfag that has no other choice than to submit to the Jewry
>R5 1400 If you want a good budget option
>R5 1600 if you want a good mid range option
>R7 1700 if you want a good top of the range option
>Intel i7 7700K if you want, and only care about, the highest maximum fps in gaymes
