I've been playing it for 25 minutes and the noise my PS4 Pro fan is making is unbelievable, never heard it spin like this before. As soon as I closed the game the fan slowed right down to silence. I'm a little concerned to play it again. I was enjoying it though.

here's the deal with Street Fighter it's chronology doesn't get past what 1998, and Tekken 6 takes place in 2026 with some math you get Tekken 1 starting in 2002. there's no world altering event in SF that would contradict Tekken's story.

Fighting games take a lot of practice and dedication, man. I remember when I started getting into fighting games, I lost the first 100 matches I played in SF4. It was rough and demoralizing, but I stuck with it. After like 3 years of playing SF4, I'm now "ok".

My advice for Tekken is don't be afraid to be stale. If you have trouble remembering all your character's moves (god knows most people do), just find out which combos are useful to you. Winning the match is all that matters.

The star is a neutral innput. I assume it's a crouch dash, so you want to input forward, let the stick return to neutral, then hit down, down-forward.

Tekken is really finnicky about directional inputs, so you can't flub the down input like you can in SF or it'll come out as another move due to command overlap.

This is my first Tekken I actually try to learn seriously and it's been going p good so far. I still don't have a proper handle on how to play neutral in 3D fighters and the 50+ move list can be kinda intimidating but I'm seeing small growth.

you can press any kick, i piano/plink both 3 and 4. you press it for each of the 6 strikes as they hit; one for each letter plus the finish - she does an uppercut if you got the full sequence.

for her rage drive, press 1+2 when she says "2" for the follow-up.

for her second d3+4 breakdance, press 3+4 again on the ~second hit to make her say "lucky!" instead of "double", and she finishes in backturn. i think the hit properties change too.

for the footwork shuffle, i haven't perfect the little kick outs, but chaining db+3, db+4, db+3 you just press it on each second beat. ie when she says "2" and "4"

the main reason I recommend true kbd is that it actually warrants the best possible backdashing.

if you do the wavedash method, there's bigger periods where you aren't holding back, and are subsequently vulnerable.

backdashing isn't that useful unless you're holding back, which guarantees safety if you mess up spacing.

its kind of relic of old tekkens. they aren't true 'combos', more like a bunch of animations that flow into one another. in fact most strings of 3+ buttons are not true standing combos, counter hit sometimes changes that though. exceptions are usually 1,1,2 or 1,2,1, that kind of simple jab string.
