All memes aside though, Persona 5 was alright. I wouldn't put it above Persona 2 or 3. The ending was pretty lame, since it was just a regurgitated Persona 4. I think the Bad Ending and the Good Ending were a little more interesting.

I nearly cried when i finished it mostly because the overwhelming emotions i had for the gamr and cast.
I truly felt accomplished when I finished it and all of Jokerz friends were there for him, one last time when they would be together after going through thick and thin.
P3 and 4 were similar, P3 felt thr most emotional cuz of the fate of Doortag and how all of his friwnds remember him at the last moment and end up finding him dying on Aigis's arms.
P4 was a lot more cheerful and I didnt felt so emotional, it was a good send off to Yu.

To put it into persoective, I finished Nocturne and Strange Journey not too long ago but they didnt make me emotional, sure Strange Journey (neutral end) made me feel like I had accomplished my mission even with all the massive losses you and your team suffered but since youre just congratulated bt a group of faceless politicians and dont show you how you saved the world it wasnt as good.
Nocturne on the other hand made me feel like a king, one who rose from rags to riches and made every demon my bitch, it truly was a power trip but it wasnt emotional it was mostly cathartic.
Thats why I found the mostly story driven Personas to be more fulfilling than mainline SMTs.

Yeah it was simplistic, yet because of the deeper characters it's a lot more memorable as a story. P5 was stylish AS FUCK and had a more interesting premise with bigger themes, yet they completely dropped the ball near the end. Not to mention the characters were flatter than persona 4.

My mild bitterness at having wasted my dollaridoos on this game. Never played SMT or Persona, read a thousand rants of how great this game was, decided to give SMT a try, buy P5.

50+ hours later, I'm still shocked anyone can like this garbage. A bunch of teenagers all worship and adore a socially incompetent protagonist and rant in social commentary and completely 'im a contrarian' non contrarian perspectives of the youth culture.

P3 has proper character development in the main story in addition to SLs. P5 did as well, but to a lesser extent since the game was mainly focused on the group as a whole and the various themes associated with that like the perception and manipulation of the masses.

P4 has jackshit for proper character development and the themes of the game don't make up for it because they're a lackluster or poorly utilized.
