The demo is a little bit unrepresentative of the overall game. The demo showcases well how the game switches between game modes in different scanarios (bullet hell, bird's eye hack and slash, normal 3rd person), but this ironically could be a put off for players. Also, most importantly, it doesn't show any of the open world that you spend 90% of the game running around in, which is a beautiful place and one of the main draws of the game. The atmosphere of an abandoned civilization is a huge part of what makes the game great to play and you don't get that at all from the demo.

The demo was literally a gimped version of the tutorial on Route A.
Missing a shmup section and consists of less than 1% of the over all game.

Way to be a fucking contrarian. I loved Nier, but Automata blows it out the water, on almost every level. I liked the main characters of Nier more, but on basically every other aspect, Automata is vastly superior. Actually functional gameplay for once, better execution of the story, did a great job tying in the old games while making it accessible, and a million other little things. Both are fantastic, but Automata is just flat out more refined.

The demo leaves out fused chips, particularly weapon damage 6+ and Shockwave 6+. Which turn melee attacks into overpowered ranged attacks.
