the way stats work is kind of retarded, STR only affects you're basic attack so if you want to do a physical build you need to dump your stats into DEX because that's what brings your physical spell attack damage up

You can either go full dex/luck or mag in this game.
Dex has desperate hit which is a physical allmighty skill that does 1-5 light or medium almighty physical damage ala freikugel that can crit.
You can also use elemental bullets to hit weaknesses.
With mag you can hit weaknesses with spells that does more damage than bullets and you can get antichton which is megidolaon and debilitate in one.

i'd say so. i'd usually roll with the guns that hits all enemies (bazooka i think). with high dex i can usually clear out mobs without wasting mp by having mc hit all of them and then each demon focus on finishing one off and then letting my assistant kill the last one

Dex with some in agi and luck, just enough agi so that you hit first always, luck for some crits.

In the beginning of the game, magic is best; later, when enemy weaknesses matter less, phys (dex) is better

Jonathan made more sense to me.
All Jonathan wanted was peace and to protect the people, but he was also naive to a fault.
He had the nisconception of angels=ultimate good, so just luke the lawfag he was he didn't question or think if the things the angels were doing were goid or not since hey they are angels the most benevolent creatures in the universe.
So due to his naivety he fused himself with the angels, because lucifer was threatening to destroy mikado and Merkabah was needed to protect it.
Also just kike us h didn't know about the whole nuking everyone in tokyo plan so it makes sense too think that it would go more like.

Johnathan's choice always made sense, and as much as I like Walter his choice and behavior really made no sense whatsoever.

you pretty much have 2 choices

magic is always a safe choice especially since its easier to get what magic skills you want in this game and be easily versatile

Dex is your second choice since it affects both phys and gun skills and gun attacks

Magic is pretty much good all game and dex is more of a future investment as you wont be getting regular crits till mid to late game but the damage does increase and unlike magic unless a demon resists gun or phys will be pretty good for general use and killing mobs.

dont waste your levels its good to start at the beginning and focus on chosen stat with increases in agility and luck of course (luck moreso for dex to increase crits)

if you do go for dex be sure to get the strange journey looking jack frost as desperate hit is your best endgame move

how much of the game is left? I loved the game at first but at this point I'm kinda running out of steam and just want to move on to Apocalypse

Should I watch the neutral route on youtube or something afterwards? Apparently neutral is both hard to get and a hassle to complete

Jonathan is the more logical character, but I think it's easier to feel an affinity with Walter. Not many players can relate to Jonathan's noble upbringing, but they easily can to Walter both in-game and out. Jonathan is peace, but Walter is passion=. He hated a predestined life, being held down and inhibited, couldn't tolerate systemic evils or taking shit from people he didn't respect, he wanted to test his limits and live life to the fullest.

After the adventures in Mikado and Tokyo, Walter is introduced for the first time to the notion that the world can indeed be changed and shaped to fit one's desires. It's a fitting answer to all his problems. He's aware of the repercussions of his actions, but he believes good will come from it: individuals he believes worthy of ruling and leading others. At the least, he comes to believe a chaotic world is a fair and natural one.
