The ribbon cable that sits under the analog sticks gets pushed down over time in to this foam thing that keeps it in place and it causes this issue. All you need to do is open the controller up and put new foam to keep ribbon cable up. I used to play gta and the fucker would always randomly jump out of the car while i was driving when i was using the analog sticks lol.

Yea, my DS3's are currently experiencing the same thing. I dont know of any other controller that randomly generates grease while sitting in a drawer for a year.

I put my PS4 where my PS3 was and I was in the mood to play this kino. It's probably been a good year or so since I touched it. The same was the case with my oily PS2. It had been years since I touched it but I wanted to play Resident Evil Outbreak on the fan server. Oily mess.

I wash my hands constantly and wipe down all my controllers often. For some reason though my PS2 controller's analog sticks are always gross. Various types of rubber become sticky as they break down.

You get the same thing with various earbuds, handles on various kitchen utensils, in fact a LOT of kitchenware suffers from the same problems, you'll see it on the handles of some tools, various cheap toys etc
