Alright I'll bite. Sonic has unique and fun gameplay that indies here and there try to emulate into a fun platformer but fail. Freedom planet is the best example of a nonsonic title that emulates that style well. Problem is, while its fresh and fun with an indie, its stale with the sonic series to get us to love a character that is a 90s character in spirit that died with the early 2000s. What should sega do with the blue hedgehog? Improve non-sonic games with sonic, like sonic and all stars racing transformed. There is a strong market for it, and the PC community is tight knit. Why this game? It references a lot of old era sega well, and its fresh and new for this time, like people who are into mario kart 8, there is a market for mascot racing games. If sega invested in this route, younger audiences would buy it to play the game, and be introduced to long forgotten sega classics. Since sega is better at porting older games, why not take this route?
