And that's only if we're talking about zombie movies specifically.

The only reason people give credit to 28 days later is because it introduced fast zombies to the masses. However if you actually watch the movie then it starts out fantastic and falls apart in the second half. It's one of those "ohh yeah we HAVE to praise it" movies, because it made something very popular. Don't get me wrong, there are people who legit like the movie, but from a cinematic and more so from a structual stanpoint it's incredibly bad.

How is Re-animator compared to the short story?
28 Days has flaws, but I still see it as a breath of relatively fresh are compared to most. I'll try to get my hands on your recommendations, but I live in Australia, so it may be diffictut.

Have you seen Diary of the Dead? It's half decent.
All I want is a WWZ miniseries or a Mockumentary of the Battle of Yonkers.

As with all of lovecrafts work it's hard to really adapt them, especially with a visual medium like movies. But I think it might be the best adaptation of any of lovecrafts stories.

Of course you have to take into account that re-animator isn't as crazy as innsmouth, but for the source material, I think it's the best movie adaptation you could've done.

Dairy of the dead was decent, I should give it a rewatch, feels like it's been forever.
