Yeah. It's advisable. Use FNVEdit to do so. When you launch it, it will select all your .esp files. Let it run, and solve conflicts if there are any. Right click somewhere in the list of ,esps to the left, to to Other, and create merge patch. All the .esps will be selected. Let it run. Make sure it's the ABSOLUTE LASt T .esp in your load order. Finally, make a master update of the file. rename the FNVEdit.exe file to FNVMasterUpdate.exe and let it run. All done!

Yes Man is a robot that can jump to a new body when destroyed, and is the only essential NPC. That makes more sense then anyone remotely important in the commonwealth being immune to bullets because Bethesda doesn't trust you to not be a retard and shoot someone with a side quest and bitch about it because you didn't know.

And even then I read somewhere if you Crit Yes Man with a energy weapon he doesn't come back at all.
