The severe progress dilation as you near the endgame IS a big flaw in warband, I agree. But the journey is a lot of fun. I've never finished a game though, eventually it boils down to you grinding tournaments to get fame to get bigger armies and little else.

Yes you could. You can try it yourself. Get awarded a city, preferably a khergit one. Let the steppe bandits kill off all your peasants. You will see the income you get from the city drops. Its even worse if they block trade caravans.

Yep, i was wrong there, the mechanics existed in warband too, still the whole point of tweaking is to make it more streamlined, and they are hopefully making this run better. At least the trade, village things, as the ai now has to play by the same rules as the player, so it actually affects them
