it's not really a technical upgrade, unless you're referring to yakuza 1 when you say that. The only real change to the combat is you can switch styles mid combo. It's still a decent game but I wouldn't call it the best way to experience yakuza 1 since half of yakuza 1's combat design only worked in yakuza 1 and is a frustrating mess here

It's basically Yakuza 0 with 1's plot and some extra content. Still worth the money for sure. One of the only decent remakes out there.

Kiwami is a remake of a PS2 game while Yakuza 0 was a cross-gen game PS3-PS4.

As soon as you start playing Kiwami you'll gonna notice the sharp drop in quality due to the generational leap.

I was a literal lazy cash grab for japs before release of Yakuza 6.
Each mini-game is the same, just reskinned to fit into the setting.
As for combat there are like 2 minor tweaks, the rest is the same like it was in original game plus extra cutscenes and sub stories and remixed music with few new songs.
