but that's not the case in Stalker... and Arma. There are stances in between prone, at least in arma. In stalker there is no prone I think.

In stalker the second crouch is not prone, this is evidenced clearly by witnissing non player characters doing it. It looks like a professor zoidberg crab shuffle

I've never played an Arma game but I've heard it has something like 9 stances you can take. Maybe the one above prone would fit the description.
