Because unlike other genres with more complex and involved gameplay, rhythm games are just pressing buttons over a music video. I'd go as far to say rhythm games are carried entirely by how it's contextualized. PaRappa and his abstract and surreal world is infinitely more interesting than an overtly Japanese rabbit and world.

Because the guys making Rap Rabbit made good games that we love

So shouldn't we have faith in them to produce a new, good game that we'll love?

Frankly, I really hate how many Kickstarters that succeed are "remember this old game??? Here it is again!"

They want to create something NEW. Something interesting and fresh. Something that's a risk, something they can't bring to investors because risks don't fly in the modern industry.

Do people just not want a new game? Do they all just want PaRappa 3: You Didn't Even Play PaRappa 2?

Real talk. I'd be totally on board with Rap Rabbit if it wasn't Rap [Insert Any Animal Besides Dog Here], but something that's actually unique.
Every single Kikestarter that tried to make a Knock Off of another franchise always ended up being trash and I'm expecting the same for this one.
