I know this is just consolewar bullshit but I will seriously answer your question.
Really it all started and ended with the MCC being a fucking disaster. Halo is/was the only good reason to even think about owning an xbone and so when all our dreams were to come true (halo 2 hd 60 fps halo 2 era online ranking) and then when literally none of them did, it ruined everything. Halo 4 was hot garbage and Halo 5 just continued that new legacy with mildly improved multiplayer but it was all over when they fucked the MCC up. To this day I still have never been so disappointed in a game.
