DMC is definitely not a stretch, especially the first one where you're there on a job. The other 3 are more preservation-based.

With mods you can make it so silver affects undead and werewolves, fire for trolls, holy relics and water for vamos, and for the rest you you have traps, poison and stunning items, then alchemy to enhance your body

It's THE best because no other moddable game has tried to do it better.

Also I guess bloodborne to an extent. More games should try the MH formula where the main reason to keep advancing in the game is self-improvement rather than a story or whatever.

A goal set by the player is always more satisfying to archive than a given one.
