The side quests are entertaining enough, so that's not a worry, some of them involve important characters too, or have some funny situations in them. They're not overwhelming though, you won't run across +20 quests for each new city you run into, plot progression is steady.

You should also go around talking to NPCs at each story progression to see if they have something new to say. Many of the NPCs are fleshed out and have little story segments for them, like say, a woman who is tired of her husband always going off to fish and gets sick of being sidelined, so she decides to fish too and show him how it feels, only to end up being extremely good at it and taking it up as a hobby making her husband seem like a newbie by comparison, or a boy who is always being give cold harsh reality from the girl he likes in their talks despite being really young.

Hello /v/ please teach me how to properly build characters on Trails 3rd that are not Olivier or Zin. Right now I try to go 2 pure casters 2 pure melee, each with 2x tiger heart, 2x crimson eye (i have 4 of each)

I don't understand how to make characters other than those good.

For Olivier and Renne it's simple, I go:

-Onyx
-Divine Eye (need 8 wind)
-Ingenuity 2 (need 8 fire)

Accessories: 2x Crimson Eye

This gives Calamity Blast and Devastation blast, the two huge time/space aoes and works great

Zin is also simple since True Distend makes him a beast no matter what so:

How do i make hybrids like Anelace or Richard or the 2 priests useful tho? Anything without a STR buff pales in comparison to Zin, and anything iwthout 7 serial slots pales in front of Olivier.

I can actually agree with the voice roles part. The VAs fit decently for the english cast in CS but I really can't say the same for P5's. I guess that reflects the quality of voice roles in the original Japanese because P5 had an all-star cast while CS had a moderately famous crew.

It is. They made the first game standalone and conclusive thinking it would sell like shit but then it exploded in popularity. So they tried to reinvent the wheel with the 2nd game and introduced the younger sisters as the new main characters but people hated it, so with the third game they brought back the main character but sent her to another dimension because fuck knows why. VII continues where 3 left off but it plays perfectly well as a standalone entry since it's the first time the actual main cast of the main dimension is together in one game and every goddess has their own personal storyline so you can easily get to know them that way. I still think you could give that one a try and ignore the previous ones if you're interested.
