I want to give you shit, but this is something that's perhaps less known. the majority of hardware output devices only accept some form of wave for an audio signal. Part of an audio engine's job is to decode audio samples (from your standard ogg, mp3, whatever) in close to real time so it can send that uncompressed signal.

as in, it takes your compress ogg assets, turns them into .wav format in memory, and then shoots that out.

Theres no reason for games to be over 50GB,
every PC game has about 20-30GB of DRM padding files.

Uncompressed audio takes up about 3-5GB at most, about 10GB for the textures, and rest is about 10GB of game data .

Look at the Witcher 3, the amount of dialogue in the entirety of that game is twice as much content as any other game, and it still only takes up 30GB
