Some of the best in all of vidya right now. The facial animations were fucking great. I plan on picking up Tekken 7 when it launches, but I watched people streaming it on PS4 today. And the facial animations compared to Injustice 2 are a huge step down. It is very noticeable after playing Injustice then watching the story mode in Tekken.

Deadshot's problem isn't that he's unbeatable, it's that he's zero fun to play against/watch, and that his zoning is the perfect storm of effective, oppressive, and mindless.

The problem with Deadshot, is that the core tenant of any successful, well-designed fighting game, is that neither fighter has the advantage at a match's outset; they both have their strengths and weaknesses, they both have tools, they both have a plan, and it's up to the players to execute, and whoever plays better wins.

Not so with Deadshot. He has the advantage against the entire roster by default; absolutely nobody can outzone him, and your first order of business as his opponent is getting around his spam so you can do *something.* Easier said than done, considering he has a trait that can either knock you full screen with one shot, or drain the meter you need for "JERST METER ROLL ERMAGERD."

^That argument further illustrates how bullshit Deadshot apologists are. "Oh Deadshot is fine, all you have to do is blow two bars of meter, hope he doesn't see it coming (he will, because unless you're Darkseid or Supergirl it's really your own option for getting in) and attempt to get some offense in. Oh, and his normals aren't terrible either."

I don't know what it is about NRS; they release amazing games with "that character." There's always one, every game. Kabal, Batgirl/Manhunter, Alien, and now Deadshot. Shockingly, these are always who SonicFox mains; last year at EVO his Erron Black was getting bodied by some literallywho from Turkey's Kotal Kahn, and last match of the tournament, down to the wire, winner take all, he cheeses it out with Acidic Alien. Made me sick to my fucking stomach.

I love, love, *love* I2, but until that character gets put in check I'm spending all my time in the lab and the multiverse, not even touching online. Not because I can't beat him, but because I'm not even having fun when I do. I want to play I2; not Frogger.

So, yeah the facial animations are great and all but am I in the minority in thinking everything else looks like shit? Hair especially. I kind of wish it was more comic/cartoon styled. This just looks gross to me. I was a big fan of the original Injustice but this one somehow looks worse?

Western Devs make fighting games that are mostly just punching and kicks and even the special moves are just stronger punches as kicks. SFV is only going to be killed when SFVI comes out and Tekken 7 likewise, Tekken has already been dug into hard by the Japs the past 2 years or so and its true competitive lifespan is just getting started with the home releases. The reason for this is because NRS fighters have no depth. They're pretty and flashy and they have roster appeal but the games are skin deep.

People really exaggerate the flaws of SFV. The lack of defensive options and the strength of throw loops/general pressure in SFV is fucking dire and Capcom should do something about that, but the game is not without merit. I still enjoy it, but I'm a huge fan of SF in general, love the characters and the staples of the series.

I think the easier execution of SFV was a step in the right direction. Former execution masters can bitch and moan about "muh signature" all day but they're just mad they can't pull one over on somebody just by being the best at obscure links anymore. The new style of links and combos has lowered the skill floor but kept the focus of the game centered around other fundamentals like neutral, AAs, frame traps, punishes, cross-ups, meaties, reversals, all that fun stuff.

I'm not sure I agree on the stubby normals part with extended hurtboxes, that really really depends on your character is and what move you're using/what move you're being beaten by in the neutral. I play Bison so I sometimes exploit unaware players in neutral by hitting them from long-range with Psycho Axe, which is a low-key frame trap, then they extend their hurtbox with a counter and get tapped by ST MP into another Psycho Axe which steps me into their face. So for stuff like that I see what you meant. One thing that weakens the neutral a bit is that zoning has been gutted unless your name is Guile, and if your character DOES have stubby normals, you really have no option but to rushdown.

AAs are still strong, I dunno in what sense you think they've been nerfed. Every character I've played around with has had at least one or two strong and reliable AAs. Reversals need serious work though.
