MN9 was released 1 year ago, and it marked the end of Inafune's career.
Bloodstained is set for a release next year. Will it end Iga's career like MN9 ruined Inafune?

IGA at least had the sense to ditch Inti-Creates part way through.
Probably too late though.
>>378696275
>ditch
They didn't ditch them but instead hired two groups to assisst Inti. One team is an expert at Unreal Engine. The other team can make procedurally generated assets.
Inafune either didn't care or didn't have the money to hire extra teams.

Oh.
Well then shit is fucked.
IGA's career already ended, this is basically his encore and then he'll fade into nothingness whether or not Bloodstained ends up successful.

What's wrong with Inti Creates? The last 4 platformers that I bought and/or stole from them were great.
Lets get this shit started.
>yfw you have NEVER backed any kickstarter
>>378696721
Why is that?
>>378696731
>What's wrong with Inti Creates?
They're a budget developer, and only seem good at 2D. 3D they are woefully incompetent, and they seem to have few if any programmers.
>>378697124
I guess I can accept that. All the games I'm referring to are 2D, but they have that shit DOWN. Call me a shill but they make amazing shit if you can get past the pixel graphics.

Gunvolt is garbage.
>>378697452
Lies and slander. Gunvolt is more creative than MN9 ever was, and delivered an actually engaging spin on the mega man x platforming concept. Admittedly, the grinding was a bit of a drag, but the gameplay was fun as hell.

Bloodstained may not look flawless at this point, but it doesn't have anywhere near the same level of red flags that MN9 did at this point in development, so there's still hope.
>>378696869
Backed Half-Genie Hero and I'm goddamn happy I did, cause I absolutely adore it.
Get rustled about it, though, by all means.

>Shantae: HGH comes on jevvstarter
>ignore it because jevvstarter
>buy it after few months
>it's fucking great
>>378697124
3D here is just a front end, genius. If we were talking about the need to do 3d movement, then we'd be have need to be more worrisome, but apparently you think 3d graphics = 3d game.
>>378698769
you fucked up. Have you never played a Shantae game? You should've known it was going to be incredible.
You deserve to be sad
>>378698575
>but it doesn't have anywhere near the same level of red flags that MN9 did at this point in development, so there's still hope.
Such as what?

shantaemind
>The image that destroyed inafune
>>378698905
Being complete visual ass (bloodstained looks alright), trying to branch out the brand with a fucking cartoon, having a fake second kickstarter where people send you more money for no reason.
>>378698890
>Have you never played a Shantae game?
Pretty much. I've never played Shantae game before.
>>378699061
>having a fake second kickstarter where people send you more money for no reason.
That was for voice acting.
>>378697747
>More creative than MN9
Wow, that's saying something. Not.
>engaging spin on the mega man x platforming
I don't see how jumping around enemies as you slowly wait for them to die is "engaging." Because that's what most of GV is. The only thing that requires skill is avoiding taking a single hit, so you mostly end up just tapdancing around people as your field saps them away. You're more or less invincible if you don't attack.
>>378699061
Those actually aren't relevant to the game's gameplay, just squandering of funds. Here's some of the more pertinent red flags to both games:
>Producer claims credit for greating a genre/series and tries to "revive" it
>Claims greedy publishers won't let him make the game he wants... But YOU can!
>Puts down nothing but some nice 2D concept art, then proceeds to make game in 2.5D
>Announces his game for a bunch of different platforms then proceeds to cancel some of them as he realizes how idiotic it is
>Delays the game because he bit off more than he can chew
>>378699069
your missing out, they are pretty fun.
>>378699272
Pretty sure they're talking about Red Ash, not the voice acting thing. Though that one counts too, I guess?
>>378699623
>He didn't play with the necklace that disabled prevasion, made spikes instadeath, and boosted kudos
Seriously though, I liked how score-based gunvolt was. Every level was like its own puzzle, where you had to figure out the optimal strategy for killing as many enemies as possible simultaneously without taking a hit. I guess it's not for everyone but I found it to be incredibly refreshing, especially with the reward for getting 1000 kudos being weeb music.
As for the red flags thing, I guess you're right, but I'm satisfied with Bloostained being, if not a perfect igavania game, at least less of a blatant cash grab than MM9 was. It already looks better, they haven't tried to make a cartoon or kickstart an entire second franchise while it's still being made, and the delay doesn't seem so bad as long as they're making good use of their time.
>>378696869
>mfw I never back anything if it's sole feature isn't gameplay
That's why I avoided MN9, Bloodstained, Skullgirls, Shantae, No Man's Sky, and anything that had a stupid gimmick. and as it turns out, every single game there was utter trash.
