I'm not a huge fan of the styles (mainly aerial being dumb on all but IG), but some of the arts should stay in the game forever.
Playing Longsword has never been more enjoyable than during Generations with sakura slash, unhinged spirit and critical juncture.
Especially the latter is absolutely amazing and landing a perfect critical juncture parry on a massive attack by an enraged monster is beyond satisfying. Plus points if you also cut off a tail or break a part with it.

If wanting to be able to see something three feet in front of me rather than having it be a mess of formless pixels IN A HUNTING GAME is "being a graphics whore" then I guess I am one.
The 3DS can't match the graphics of a console released 17 years ago, it can't even match another portable console released 11 years ago.
It's a fucking joke, I can play MHFU on my fucking phone at this point with 4x resolution scaling and texture filtering, and yet if I want to play a mainline release on 3DS I'm stuck at 240p with no AA and it looks like one of those joke threads where people try to lower the settings in games as far as possible.

They won't. The PS3 HD port of P3rd wasn't localised either and that one arguably had a potential to sell better than MHXX Switch does right now.

Isn't the reason the game looks tacky is because of the crossplay with 3DS?
Now I'm no game dev, but my guess is that general models and animations between the game versions will have to be exactly the same for this to work. Since they both have the same hit boxes and shit. The only thing they can play around with are textures and models for objects not used in combat pretty much.
