White people can be good at Tetris too though

dont cripple yourself like a retard (me) and learn it primarily on a controller. Use a keyboard or fighstick.
Practicing 40-line runs has been something Ive been doing on the side whenever I'm listening to a podcast or stream and I've gotten my time down to about 1:37.03
If you're playing on PC I recommend NullpoMino as opposed to tetrisfriends or whatever most people use at first
>>
Practice. Lots and lots of practice.

It can be helpful to know the common setups to deal with pieces, common ways to plug holes, and a strategy to building up pieces. (Generally, you'll either be building up one side with a hole on the far other side, or be building up both sides with a hole in the center.) However, when it comes down to it, it's all about how fast and accurately you can move those pieces around. And that all comes down to playing it enough to do well.

Also, only judge based on how well you typically do or how well you've done before. Don't be looking at tournament videos and getting disappointed that you are not at the level of literally only five people on the planet.

i got gud playing on my LG Rumor in 10th and 11th grade. My friend was way better than me and that's when I started learning to do hard drops. I'm no pro or anything, i get murked on ranked puyo puyo tetris, but i can play competently agains scrubs. Just get a tetris app that has a marathon mode with levels. Start at 3-4 and just keep playing til it levels you up to 10+ and you're basically playing with auto hard drop because of how fast the bitches drop.

Controllers aren't really that bad. Sure keyboards are obviously better, but it doesn't really matter. My fastest 40L speed with a controller is 1:28
>>
>>378640343
If you're learning how to get a good 40L speed, just play the game normally until your speed increases. If you're trying to win multiplayer battles, you're going to want to learn t spins. An easy setup is making a t-shaped hole, with one block covering the left or right side. http://tetris.wikia.com/wiki/T-Spin_Double_Setups

Match 3 colors, block it off with another color, repeat

Fusion is the least fun gaming experience I've ever had. Holy shit I wish they didn't include it in Puyo Puyo Tetris.

Superb taste, OP. Best song in Tetris. Sad they only ever use the first song from the Game Boy game in subsequent iterations. Would have loved a jammin' remix of the song you linked in PPT.
>>
I can't imagine playing a fighting game without a fightstick, but I simply cannot understand playing Tetris with one.

Learn to do this, learn to do it faster, then look into different building forms and practice those.

This is the final level
