Suits' costs hardly relevant to their power in universes.
More expensive suits usually have more HP and more powerful attacks, but they can be tricky to use, tho that's not a general rule. But as you can see they tried to give grunt units less than non grunt suits. But it's really "vague" type of sorting.

Cost works that way. Everyone has 1000 point at start of the match, whichever team get their points depleted first - loses.
For example Team A got 500 and 400 cost suits. Both can die one time, but if units spawns when points are not at 0 but there is not enough for full cost of a suit - that suit spawns in "overcost" and has way less HP - depending on percentage of "overcost" points used. It becomes really easy and sweet target for enemy team.

So to expensive suit to make sense - it should be able to kill at least 3 cheapest enemy suits, which can be quite a task.
That's the gist of it, sorry if didn't explain clearly enough.

The way cost works is each team has 1000 health total, so when a 200 cost unit dies it only takes 200 away from your team's health. So any of the ones that are stronger take more health away from the team when they die.
