Sombra is a bad support character. When you pick Sombra, you are actively choosing not to back up your team in any meaningful way. She can't stop the advance like Torb or Sym. She can't heal as well as real healers. She can't kill like a defense or offense. She just runs around los invisible and sorta kinda picks off low health enemies (ay caramba ese). She literally only helps out when she can use her ult and even then it's probably too late to save her poor, outnumbered team.

Envyus uses her quite often, to great effect. She actually has a very useful kit, it's just that shitters who are bad at the game want an easymode character like 76 so they can run around pretending it's CoD. A properly played Sombra can be a nightmare for the other team.

That being said I still feel she could use some buffs. What I would do is make it so damage doesn't knock her out of invisibility or prevent it from activating, and make it so she doesn't scream a loud ass voice line when she comes out of stealth. Reduce the time between coming out of stealth and being able to perform an action. The stealth character needs to have better, more effective stealth. Maybe make it so damage doesn't stop Hack either

The thing is cutting the range would almost make him useless even with his current burst damage. Punishing people for getting out of position and not utilizing their tanks properly is a perfect role for Roadhog, and yes, grabbing tracers/genji/lucio too. "Bad positioning" shouldn't mean being out of place at the ridiculous range Hook is. Again, it is just shy of being the same range as McCree's optimal M1 damage. There is nothing wrong with Roadhog being stronger on KoTH maps where close range skirmishes are a part of the game as opposed to Payload maps where it's more open. Hog just has too many options compared to Reaper. A death combo with McCree M1 range, an M2 that does a shit ton of damage and can even one-shot 200 HP heroes, and a self heal.

While I do agree that the hook is great for doing something like that, I feel that partially the line of thinking has a problem.

Shouldn't it be the job of snipers to be picking off people with poor positioning? If someone leaves the safety of the shield, shouldn't it be someone like Widow or Hanzo who take them out? Hell, even without them, pretty much everyone can capitalize on that mistake, but instead for some reason its Hog's job to obliterate someone who steps out.

We might have to just agree to disagree on the range, I feel like it's just the amount of resilience and killing power packed into one character that's the issue, not necessarily just the range. Especially with given how many mobile heroes there are, as well as Pharah/Mercy floating around in the sky being able to reach out and grab a target doesn't feel too outrageous to me, what's outrageous is that he can do that plus kill on his own. If hook actually required some teamplay it would feel alot more balanced, imo
