You are not a primary tank, so don't play like one constantly. You generally want to be playing her alongside another, ideally primary tank like Reinhardt. What you are is a helper for your team that can swing individual or smaller fights in your allies favour.

D.Vas strength is in her ability to shut down, chase or burst damage in a very small amount of time. If your healer is getting harassed by a Winston or Genji, boost on them and harass the harasser. If your Soldier or McCree got someone to low health but they ran off, boost in and finish them off. If your teams Pharah is ulting then Defense Matrix around her to let her do it uncontested. This is what you want to be doing as D.Va.

Other general tips are

- Try not to use Defense Matrix just to absorb random damage. Try to keep track of primary ults (namely Zarya, Soldier and Mei) that the enemy team might have and if you think they have ult, do not give them a safe chance to use it, keep Defense Matrix ready for when you hear the call out or when they look like they're going to use it.

- If possible try to start the boost for a self destruct from a distance during team fights, and from unique angles. Predictably positioned self destructs are the easiest to avoid. The best time to self-destruct if you don't have ult combos like a Zarya is when the enemy team is preoccupied. Also don't let them explode too high or ceilings will act as easy cover and the damage may even be subject to fall off.

- Do not underestimate Symmetra and how much of a nuisance she can be for you. Honestly if any two of Sym, Mei and Zarya on the enemy team, consider changing.

tl;dr, try not to treat her as a central tank all the time. She is not Reinhardt or Orisa. She plays most likely post-rework Lucio, in that she's about getting around to team members and supporting them, in her case with chase/burst damage and damage tanking/defense options.

There literally isn't a difference in the way it's calculated.

You get roughly 4 xp per second of playtime in a match, otherwise you also get Win (500xp), Match Finish (150xp), Medal Rewards (150/100/50 depending on your highest medal). In QP you can additionally get Backfill (400) and Consecutive Match rewards (360).

An individual Competitive match will give more xp than an individual Quick Play match, but solely because it lasted longer. QP on the other hand has more match-ending xp rewards more often, although it does have more downtime at match starts.

I have about 120 hours into Overwatch and 1012 into CSGO, I've come across much more cunts in OW than I have in CSGO. There's a shitton of cry babies in OW who take it as a personal insult if you politely ask them to switch because what they're doing is getting countered hard, and there's also a metric fuckton of people playing the "blame game" because of the lack of a scoreboard in game. My last comp match of OW had a fucking useless Genji complain that we needed one more healer constantly, then he refused to get near our only Mercy and all he did was bitch about not getting heals.

CSGO has a lot of faggots doing random/edgy humor shit but overall the community is much more relaxed and people really don't give a shit what you buy assuming you're not throwing horribly. That and the CSGO community has a fuckton of people with mics, in OW it's real hit or miss.
