A lot of people vit on the visuals but they were never my main critique. SFV looked fine too at demos and even during the betas everyone seemed to think it was good but until we get the final product in our hand, capcom can not be trusted.

Concerning gameplay though, it's pretty apparent that this is even further dumbed down from MvC3 which was already simplified MvC2, and not because of reducing characters back to 2v2, but because of the simplified inputs and autocombos. Simplified inputs on their own arent a big deal, Killer Instinct has a combo assist, but it is an option, not mandatory. Knowing capcom, all the down down special motions will not be optional.

The roster is another big issue if this leak is the real deal. 90% of the characters are reused assets. If they're going to just go that route, why not bring the whole roster from UMcC3 and then add a handful of newcomers? Not to mention we get no one who was heavily fan requested to be in Ultimate.

Say what you will about Injustice, but Swamp Thing, Jason Todd, and Powergirl were heavily requested for the first, and all three are now in the sequel. Although Powergirl is just an alternate skin with different VA and dialogue.

Yes, harder inputs are being avoided (although reports have said there's still most common Capcom motions, just with some Down-Downs in there), but special motions do not make or break a game unless the engine doesn't read them.

Yes, there are auto combos, but they will not break balance or make total scrubs top-level; they will start the same way every time and do super unoptimal damage. There will be 1-bar BnBs for every character better than their auto combos from Day 1, guaranteed.

The reused asset comment is legitimate, although I could just imagine people calling the game a rehash if they just brought everybody back (don't underestimate stupidity). I'd like most of UMvC3's roster to return at some point, but newcomers should be a priority as well.

An autocombo and some down-down motions isn't going to kill the game. The actual gameplay, as in the way neutral works, the combo system, the anytime tag system, & the Infinity Stone system all look good.

I agree that the art design is lacking and the music hasn't stood out at all, as well as the roster being a good portion of the appeal, but underneath it all I think this will be a lot of fun to actually play. I just hope the final product on top of the gameplay is satisfactory enough.

Here's the thing: Capcom only learns one thing at a time and doesn't make any other attempts until the next game.
We haven't had another mandatory disc update since UMvC3
We haven't had gem bullshit or on-disc DLC characters since SFxT, and now Infinite's specifically said to have all the single-player content that SFV was lacking.
Capcom only learns when a game gets trashed enough, and they only take one specific thing to heart.
Watch Street Fighter 6 have 30+ characters at launch, but they're all clones and the game still isn't fun.
