You're not making any sense. With a controller, you use five buttons with your thumb and two buttons with your index finger, maybe your middle finger too if you want those for the triggers. For the mouse, you use your index and middle fingers for the three main buttons. The only thing that advanced controllers in that regard is the Steam controller I guess since you can use your ring or pinky finger I think.

Say what you want about Razer, but I haven't had any issues with my mouse and I've used it daily for almost 6 years.

I don't know man, I have trouble even mapping shit to all five of my mouse buttons. Hell, I can reprogram the DPI buttons into actual buttons and have eight buttons on it. For FPS, all I ever do is map melee to the thumb button and maybe grenade to the middle mouse button. I don't even use the mouse wheel since I just press the number key for weapons. FPS games don't need a ton of hotkeys unless thy're over-complicated for no reason.
For strategy games, don't even use any of the extra buttons, except binding -/+ to the thumb buttons to control speed in the Paradox ones.
Everything else I actually use a controller for, controller and mice are nice and it's all a preference. Your issue is more of a preference thing for you, I'd never use more than five buttons on a mouse.

I bought a Razer mamba a few years ago when it was on sale for a little less then 100$ just because I didn't want to keep spending 20$ on Logitech wireless shitmice that kept breaking after two months of use. Pic related its the shit mice I went through 5 of.

The mamba is still in use today and i only have some driver issues occasionally that tend to be fixed with a reboot and the mouse only has some slight cosmetic damage instead of the entire thing taking a shit like the cheapo Logitechs. I use it for occasional gaming and prevention of having to use my laptops cancerous trackpad. It does what i need and could probably do more.

Any opinions on the Optical Roccat Kone? I know their marketing is retarded but I've heard the mice are solid and the software is passable.

I've been using a Roccat Kone+ for some 4 years now. It's very comfortable for me to claw grip it and the mouse wheel side buttons are surprisingly useful. You get 9 buttons plus the alternate bindings for them from the + button which are all customisable, but you can't actually bind any as mouse 3-5, just as keyboard keys or the various other functions it offers, which is an issue for some games. The lighting stuff is bullshit but thankfully you can turn it off pretty easily.
As far as problems go the mouse wheel started fucking up within a month and that apparently a common problem with them, with no fix. I also have one of the 7 extra buttons no longer functional, which happened around one year ago. I have two problems with standard clicking, one of which is that sometimes even after letting go of the left click it still registers as held until I click again, and the other is that sometimes a left click will cause the pointer to snap to the right edge of the screen. Haven't found any solution for either.
