Take Grimgar, leave out the weeb shit, then you have one of the best WRPGs in a loooong time.

Modded Bethesda shit is the closest I've seen so far.

A morale system would be neat too

Unfortunately this.
Only reason I even fucking own Skyrim. Damn shame. Shouldn't have to go pen & paper for this kind of experience in 2017. Devs need to take things back to the basics (Everquest & Runescape days) instead of trying to reinvent the wheel with more and more gimmicks.

>A morale system would be neat too
hell no, morale system will make all the outcomes based on the moral of devs

>-survival (food, water, lodging)
you forgot

>Morale, not moral.
Morale reflecting general happiness of your character. Things like wearing the same underwear for 2 weeks, for example, would lower morale. Maybe slightly lower some stats, maybe hinder exp.
Something you can ignore, but is certainly worthwhile to pay attention to.

Out of all the STUPID and unwanted tryhard and gimmicky games we get yearly, I can't believe that nobody has cared enough to try to tap into this demographic aside from the occasional shallow indie roguelike with bad art style.

if we are going grimgar the mandatory addition iscarry back corpses of fallen comrades, if not purified and properly buried, are cursed and become undead warrior with the same skill sets they had when alive

wat is this game

Sounds neat, and it would explain the permadeath, but I couldn't care less about Grimgar lore. As long as these basic gameplay mechanics are featured in a game, I'm a very happy camper, I don't even feel like it's asking a lot. Devs just don't care about hardcore RP'ing much these days.
>one of the best WRPGs
what a low bar
