OP is right though, the fact that your health replenishes as you attack is ridiculous. You can just spam R1 against crowds of enemies and be virtually invincible.

first time i saw the like of ebrietas or any dlc boss and such or any defiled chalice boss i just ran up to their back and spammed r1 for an easy one shot win XDDD!
doesnt matter how much they damaged me anyway since blood regen of spaming one r1 atack always outhealed whatever damage the boss was doing XD. even the defiled ones were no match for back r1 spam XD full heals forever XD.
