Seriouusly i I feel like everytime Ive gotten close to falling for the Sony meme theyve shit the bed like this. I was insanely close to getting a ps3 when those hacks started. And id need tp be a literal retard to buy one after THAT fiasco. Almost bought a PS4 before they then announced the Pro and proceeded to butcher it entirely by pushing 4k on it so Sony could make some 4k tv dosh instead of focusing on1080 and 60fps. The only modern Sony product I've purchased was a Vita early on in its life and FUCK ME did I get burned on that.

Modern Sony is trash IMO. Even if they had enough games to interest me, I dont even think I could deal with their obnoxious branding that's clearly meant to appeal to the poor and poor in self esteem by displaying the Playstation brand as this elite, exclusive club.

back in my day, we had to restart the system multiple times to get any game to work - and we had to blow on 'em!

I already updated around 10AM EST. I played BB for about 3 hours and now I'm playing NBA 2K17, not a single problem yet.

I heard about this right as I was installing the update but apparently it doesn't brick your console it just freezes it and a bunch of other dumb shit. The only fix is booting in safe mode and rebuilding the database. So far I haven't heard of anyone consoles bricking, but nice falseflag though shills.

After actually reading the article though, I dont think this is my issue.

My crash wasnt on installing an update, it was in the middle of a movie and it crashed to static, and then no display.

Normally I can fix it by rebuilding the database from safemode, but as I said, its no longer booting to safe mode. Called Sony support twice and they said my only option is to send it in.

My 40GB PS3 was fine untill the last update it got after the Deus Ex game came out. It started to run hot and in the middle of play it just died. Nvidia and ATI do the same thing with their graphics cards. After a while they'll make the drivers make your card run hotter. I can't update my GTX 780 anymore. Even as a kid, I'd scour the Internet for patches and updates to all of my games. Keeping everything up to date just feels good for some reason.
