unless you're tremendously underleveled (you shouldn't be unless you've been avoiding lots of fights) you should be able to just hit him and heal, block when he telegraphs a big attack, hit the cup, steal the crown.

If you still can't manage and refuse to reload to an earlier time then just stop playing because you're going to get real mad when you come up against more difficult enemies.

Did you upgrade the party melee weapons? Cause you can have MC just attack and have morgana and ann heal constantly and you should put out enough damage to keep distracted.

Hey man I had the same problem with this boss. What helped me was having a medium-damage phys skill and buying some of the items from the nurse that heal your whole party.

I think one of the options you can pick when you lose is to start over from before you send the calling card? So maybe go buy some of those.

For what it's worth though, the early game stays bad if you keep trying to beat the palaces in one day. Around the third palace you start running into enemies who can hit your whole party three times in a row and kill you before you can even do anything.

The combat in this game just isn't good. You can make it really easy if you dick around with fusing personas and stuff, and that's why everybody's gonna call you stupid for having trouble with it, but that just makes the game boring the other way.

My real honest advice would be to just stop playing it. It's the worst of the new persona games anyway. The social links are all garbage and even fans agree that the last few dungeons are boring.

It helps to figure out Golden Knife targets highest health party member ~90% time. There's definitely some splinter cases i've run into when he just merks someone else, but any time I've beaten Kamoshida at 8-9 has relied on guessing golden knife under those circumstances.

The point is to recognize it's a red enemy and stealth past them with, you know, the game's stealth mechanics.
You are supposed to do for a lot of encounters throughout the game, almost every area has one mob in it that's just vastly more powerful than even the midbosses in them. Archangel in the first Palace, Nue in the second, etc. Granted you very quickly become so powerful you don't really have to worry anymore, but it's pretty obvious what their intent was.

I did 3 playthroughs because I'm autistic and don't like dating all the girls at once. Honestly the only annoying trophies are reading all the books and getting all the drinks. Since one of the books you get from a sidequest near the end and you can get some of the drinks as drops which don't count towards the trophy.
