Any good survival games come out lately?
Stuff with scavenging and resource management.
Don't care about graphics much.
there ain't shit
cataclysm dda is all there is and even that's kinda meh once you're familiar with the game
UnReal World is the best and is still regularly updated (although, being 25 years old, it doesn't exactly fill the "come out lately" criteria)

CDDA is so goddamn overbuilt. I like the autistic, Dward Fortress level attention to detail but sometimes I wonder if the next update will allow me to control my breathing.

It needs a graphics update. At the very least, a better art style.

>Download newest version
>Zombies now have dirty clothing
>Turn it off because I can't be bothered with cleaning that shit
>Leave a city
>Wilderness is fucking overflowing with wildlife now
A few minutes walking along a road and I saw like a huge pack of dogs, loads of bats, wolves, critters and a bear.
I hate this and wish I knew a way to lower the spawns because what the fuck.

I really liked The Long Dark, even though there is nothing to do in it but not freeze or starve.
Making contaminated water out of snow in darkness because you are 3000 days in and there are no watter purification tablets left on the map is comfy as fuck.

You can set the critter spawn rates when creating a new world, it's somewhere in the convoluted menus. Changing this in a preexisting world is hard though and I think requires modifying a text file of the world or it's respective save.

Guess I'll just scrap the world I'm in then. Thanks anon.

best tileset?
my autism isn't strong enough for ascii
Neo Scavenger is pretty good, though I think item deterioration on nearly everything is frustrating as fuck. I always mod it to remove it because it doesn't make sense for a military backpack that is in mint condition to die in a week.

The default one that comes with the graphic version. All the others I tried weren't as easy to read at a glance or tried to be artsy and nice looking over displaying information in an info heavy game. Most had some degree of missing sprites too because the game updates faster than the tile creators can add stuff.

Played this a bit.
It's got some nice atmosphere sometimes.
