Why have city builders stagnated? Was sim city 4 just too perfect? Nothing has even come close, cities:skylines was ok but just didn't have the depth of sc4. I just want something that gives me a reason to play it over sc4, but it seems as though EA is too far down the shitter for that to happen.

not much competition, cant really say people see much of a demand for city builders anyway.

Simcity 4 was a near perfect mix of city construction and micromanegment.

The graphics are timeless to boot, over 10 years later and they still look great.

It's just so sad Will Wright somehow decided it was getting too complicated and went on to make Societies.

I always wanted to make a "complete" region like that, but I would get bored after a few weeks when I had some good dense city tiles completed, and when I came back I wouldn't know where I was in development so I would start over.
