Because if you had a lobby without tubes, commando fags, or any of the bullshit, it was probably the best cod ever made. The maps were really good and the guns all felt good besides like the f2k. There was lots of fun stuff to do in the game like:

Knife only
Using javalins indoors, having it hit the ceiling and getting multikills
running around with the spaz
quickscoping
etc

It had a fun variety, for a pure "fun" shooter I highly doubt anything beats it. The only thing that ruined it was when everyone found out about tubes and it never got patched. Even just removing the rpg/tube would have left it as a legendary game in the eyes of most people.

As much as people love to hate it, it was probably one of the best multiplayers ever made.

The amount of perk, weapon, killstreak, mod, and equipment variations was absolutely insane, every single game could be played differently. It had an amazing progression system, very good weapon balance (play with almost anything and you can make it work), and basically pushed the industry forward after Halo began to get stale (or backward depending on your POV).

Sure it had a good share of flaws, some massive flaws as well, but if you played it when it first came out you would have been blown away, it was just such a huge step up from Halo 3 or COD4/WAW, seriously idk any guy who wasnt playing MW2 at the time.

The guns in Modern Wafer 2 had a lot of personality and all felt different.

If you used the Scar-H or UMP45 you were probably a shitter tryhard that couldn't aim for shit and needed every advantage just to not suck ass. If you used the ACR kill you're self, because that gun was literally a laser with no fucking recoil.

Gimp loadouts were fun as fuck too and the Riot Shield was pretty cool albeit really wonky with hit detection.

Rapid Fire Thermal Scoped Mini-Uzi's with Blue Tiger Camo made it look life a sci-fi ray gun. The slow scope-in time killed off the advantage of SMG's (quick ADS) and was ruined by the extreme recoil from the fast fire rate.

F2000 was a fun gun to use that I never saw anyone else use. The outrageous kickback and recoil was mitigated by firing in short bursts, and if you went full auto at chest level the recoils would kick up to their heads giving you a headshot.

FN FAL would get me a lot of shit from people calling me a hacker for how fast I fired the semi-auto weapon. You could kill people in like 3 shots and it was easy to fire that many times in a second.

Wa2000 was slow as shit to swap to and couldn't kill in one shot like the hot meme Intervention and the .50, unless you aimed for the head of course. Had so much fun dominating sniper maps with this gun and just headshotting everyone.
