1. There's so many fucking new games coming out every week.
2. Few games are like Quake/Half-Life with the ability to mod and vibrant communities. Now games are pretty disposable - beat it once, maybe play some multiplayer, then move on.

Because The Last Guardian is short and its replayability is non-existent. Souls games (generally) have decent replayability and a moderately sized PvP scene. This ain't rocket science.
