Haven't play semen souls but I feel like it would be trying to play Battlefield 1942 after playing Battlefield 1.

It is. BB is by far my favourite and I went through the same thing. Found Demon's Souls to be boring and never really cared to go more than two hours into DaS2 but then I played BB and I finally got it. They're pretty unique games but once you're used to them they all become a lot better. I played DaS3 then DaS2 after BB and they were fun, although I didn't enjoy their atmosphere or setting nearly as much as BB.

Controls in DS1 sucked dick. DS2 had an expansion with DirectX 11 which is the first souls game I got after DS1. I count that as my first experience since I spent more than an hour on it.
