OP here and I remember playing this as a kid and hating it.

Loved it as a kid. Really liked the kung fu fighting. But when the vampires appeared it got a little bit frightening. It required expert timing sometimes especially when you were running from the agents.

I never made it past the airport stage because of the goddamn helicopter.

I played this when I was like 8. Didn't understand how to do the car level from the drivers POV for ages.

Also fighting agent's for ages and seeing all the ways I could beat them, or getting them to do stupid shit. I thought matrix agents were the coolest shit ever as a kid.

WellI recorded enough gameplay for Matrix, now moved onto another game.

I only remember that entering cheat codes were a pain the ass (IT'S LIKE YOU'RE A SUPER HAX0R) and the cheat where you could fight as cars.

I remember this being a sort of cool idea, it was one of the first proper movie tie-ins (normally the studios would just auction the video game rights to the highest bidder and not give two fucks about it). But Enter The Matrix felt like it was actually properly marketed as being part of the larger story told throuh various media (The Animatrix included other pieces of the puzzle). All in all, it was a pretty ambitious idea even if the game was prettu mediocre. Worst last level in any game I've played.

Glitchyest game ever!

I remember shooting out the tires on the airplane and it showing the victory cutsceen, only to then rewind the whole video and then play the failure cutsceen and send me back to start.
I get that some glitch messed up my win/lose statement, but how the F&*@ does a digital video play a scene backwards like an old VHS in rewind?

I say it was in the top three hardest game I ever beat, but beating that game was really dumb luck. I just beat it again and again till it didn't glitch on me.

It was not uncommon for games near the turn of the century to have some sort of debug versus mode to test moves and all that. Some devs slip the debug room in as a barebones 1v1 mode.

No, I only kept a small selection games I really loved.

Games were very expensive for me, so I did a lot of trading and exploited promotions to the point I got blacklisted at a few stores even though I technically followed the rules. Local store one summer had promo that promised 24 hours on entertainment or full store credit, beat every game in under 20 hours to get full refund, play half the store for price of one game. Now I got some money all the prices are jacked up with the collector market.

I don't feel too bad cause I traded it back to the same store who sold it to me. It was an Xbox version, heard lots of complains about that game from others.

Three other things I remember was.

The post office level poison gas would not turn off, so I had to beat the whole level before my health bar hit zero. Very brutal time limit, took speed running to the max and finally picked up the pay phone as my death animation started playing, still counted as a win.

Other was a boss fight with infinite spawning minions. Had to kill the the boss and all the minions at EXACTLY the same time or they would just keep spawning till there was so many the system crashed. And killing them after didn't work because they keep spawning after the boss died, and taking them out early didn't work as killing all of them instantly auto spawned them instead of the normal spawn time limit. Had to get two minions and the boss down to one health point then hit all three at once.

Other boss fight had so much lag I just turned off the TV and made it a game of Simon Says, slowing mapping out the winning pattern on a note pad. It took 3 hours, I nearly lost my money.

I remember that fights looked cool as fuck. The game kinda sucked though. Path of Neo fixed most of the bad things about EtM and is generally a much better game.
