>Strategy game of any kind
>There's a timer
Why am I being artificially pressured to perform? Why can't I just take my time?
Name zero strategy games that do this

In the new Xcom games, they're there to force you to play somewhat aggressively rather than painstakingly moving and and overwatching every turn.

They should have just made the AI better / give AI better tools for dealing with X-Marines

>RNG bullshit

I liked this change, which made sense to being guerrilla's instead of defending earth, but I feel like it could have been tweaked, like the timers not start until you are spotted on certain mission types. Sometimes it feels like the level layout fucks you, or early game before you have the wider range of options, feels more like a gamble.
But people destroy these games with ease calculating everything, and I still had tons of fun, so what do I know.

I don't think the timers are particularly unfair or stressful.

It feels fake & forced
They could do it more naturally
