Graphics got too good for systems to handle multiple screens of action.

online. And kids just play on phones these days and not consoles.

I still play Rocket League split screen when my cousins come over. Sometimes Halo too. Idk I just love split screen games for some reason.

-People just prefer to play online and not shared a screen like it was 1994

-consoles cant handle splitscreen/rendering twice

Game developers forgot that some parents don't want their children playing violent games at a young age. They pick up their first video game, and it's going to be shovelware garbage, because most of the good developers, other than Nintendo, are targeting the Teenager/Adult demographic, instead of making games for the whole family. You see plenty of games imitating AMC TV Seies, lots of Esports shit, FPS games, Erotic Weebshit, and Horror titles. Nobody is developing a new Crash Bandicoot type title now adays.

Then the kids play a phone game. Easy, fun, simplistic, and quick. Kids have short attention spans, so they immediately enjoy the phone game more. The fact that they can share their progress on facebook makes it even more exciting for them when they get older. The best part is they can play it at school.

Unless something changes (Switch seems to be attracting children. Putting a new pokemon game, and marketing it right might cultivate the Pokemon GO generation), these kids aren't going to be buying video games as adults, and will result in the second Video Game crash. Just watch.

Sony confirmed their biggest issue with ps4 adoption is how many people moved to pcs at the end of last year. Sure the ps4 has still sold great but the adoption rate for home consoled is the lowest it's been in several gens

Is there even a pokemon go generation? I was under the assumption that the only people who played pokemon go are people that grew up with the games and maybe a few of their kids for the ones that are old enough

It exists still in fighting games and smash. That's all I can of, except like co-op fps if people still play resistance and stuff.

I guess because of the online. Me and my friends still play couch games whenever I go back to my country on holiday. Nothing beats playing couch games while drinking beers with the lads.
