Why are ''jaded cynical video game hate circlejerk'' fanclubs so popular? People like TB, Escapist, why is it common among PC users as well to subscribe to this attitude toward games?
You're on a board dedicated to this attitude, why do you browse /v/?

>some guy comes up with cinema sins, which is actually entertaining
>youtube faggots figure they might as well copy the format, each knockoff is embarrassingly unfunny
>but a couple are actually somewhat successful, because people who play video games are absolute retards
negativity makes you look intelligent. being postive makes you look like a sheep

It's more that /v/ has a hyperbole problem so 'mediocre' becomes 'shit' and 'pretty good' becomes 'great game'.

dam that actually explains a lot. being positive dose make you seem really dumb admitedly

>which is actually entertaining
Was*
Back in the days they pointed out actual flaws, nowadays they just nitpick and/or repeat exactly what is happening in the movie and imply that it's a sin for some unknown reason.
>character A makes a stupid decision, entirely in line with characterization
>*bing bing bing* 3 sins added

>>some guy comes up with cinema sins, which is actually entertaining
>which is actually entertaining
literally lowest common denominator

>Back in the days they pointed out actual flaws
At no point was it ever anything but nitpicking, for the most part. Which was fine, it's not an actual review or critique. It's comedy.

>'jaded cynical video game hate circlejerk'' fanclubs so popular

>This is what edgy teens actually believe
Shitting on everything doesn't make you look intelligent, it makes you look like a petulant child who is never satisfied with anything.
He doesn't seem jaded to me.

>Shitting on everything doesn't make you look intelligent
To be fair, most things are actually shit.
Movies, books, music, video games - the majority of things sold as entertainment are, in fact, pretty crappy. The average reaction to any given piece of media should usually be something along the lines of "It's bad."
That said, the majority of the negative opinions on /v/ are almost always in regards to the latest AAA release, not Shovelware #689213
