Why is the input lag so bad? Does forcing fullscreen mode alleviate

I'm using a MadCatz xinput compatible controller, playing Shadow of the Colossus on my Intel Core i3 laptop with 4GB of RAM and an Intel Graphics HD4000 video card.

ive noticed it most on games like budokai 3, gran turismo 4, burnout 4 and twisted metal, probably because you need fast input for those games and the input lag is essentially uniform across the board, but i even notice it just navigating menus

got a 6700hq, gtx 1060, 16gb of ram

I had input lag playing Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 all the way through. Couldn't find any good solution to it after googling for a while, so I think you're just going to have to deal with it.
