What's even worse is that if it was a properly polished feature, you'd actually KEEP the partially loaded mags which would be usable later, like in ARMA.

I'd rather have the standard system than to have my character just throw away tens and tens of rounds for no reason.

Killing floor 2 has 4 different reload animations for most of the guns. One for if you reload from a partial, and one where you reload from an empty mag, and then the tactical reload versions of the above. Partial mags are retained for later use.

It's a game mechanic supposed to put some pressure into you being accurate and efficient and quit reloading every 3 bullets shot.
