You are tasked with making the comfiest game of all time.
What do you put in it?
Mirror's edge
Animal friends.
The Division?
>>378168081
90s suburbs town, open world but small and unique not huge and empty, spooky mystery plot with four friends as the main characters.
>>378168081
Cooking, camping, and the great outdoors.
>>378168081
lolis
>>378168081
I make Simfarm 2000.
>>378168081
Basically Bully but set in modern times
>>378168081
Intense weather, a safe place that you can upgrade and/or decorate and where NPCs you helped can join you, a way to integrate your own music into the game in an immersive way (something like a vinyl player that adds slight record scratches to your music or a radio station like GTA4)
I just make Animal Crossing
>>378168853
Fuck you, fuck modern times, Roman times were way better. With Bear Cavalry, and Inuit Dreadnaoghts, and Cathedrals of Santa Claus, and Wolf assisted operas, and Lamias!
>>378168081
A tiny Island, with a skyscraper on it, and you fish for birds, and you turn into a giant penguin to catch fish.
>cyberpunk
>middle of winter storm
>only light source are old lamps and fires
>extra blankets
>warm, freshly made bed sheets after taking a nice hot showerlegs freshly shaven
>Takes place in winter, so usually snowy like your pic.
>Takes place between 20's and 50's in America.
>Big city like Chicago or NYC.
>Radio has slow jams from the era with cozy vinyl crackle.
>All male voice actors have deep soothing voices and none of the female voice actors have voices too annoying.
>Love interest.
>Loads of cozy optional mini game fuckery.
>>378169540
But they didn't havevideo games
Give them a Mizzurna Falls remake.
But then again, that would take away the comfiness of the PS1 graphics.
Basically, that game is the comfiest I've ever played.
I make the setting the tropics
>>378169775
That sounds comfy af, I feel sorry for people who live in warmer climes and will never understand the feeling of sitting inside nice and cozy warm while a blizzard rages outside
>>378168081
>The whole game takes place inside a mall.
>Every shop is functional.
>You can choose to help out the people with small tasks
>You can set up your own shop
>There are calendar-based mall events
>Play your cards right and you'll trigger a weird storyline
>Or just chill out and walk around the mall, whatever
Something like Bully but with a 90s high school setting
The Great Gatsby video game, based more heavily on the book than the films.
>Post apocalyptic with lush green plants overtaking cities
>Cozy towns and cities
>Fantasy weaponry but also guns
>Pets, both real and fantasy
>No elves
>Cozy hidden areas everywhere
Comfy is the worst fucking meme. Kill yourself.
>>378168081

Just re-publish Kirby's Epic Yarn. Maybe add in that one sunset level from Donkey Kong Country Returns.
>>378168081
Okay /v/.
Answer me this.
How much more comfy would games like GTA and Sleeping Dogs be if you could have an umbrella over your head?
I feel like that, accompanied by the sound of rain hitting it would be really fucking comfy.
Also neon signs.
>>378168081
You captain a space ship and can build up your crew or just be comfy by yourself
>>378173465
>small open world that looks just like a bob ross painting
How about the player's very own infinite (but large) pocket world with all of those in it (or not), with customizable ambiance and setting like rainy mountains, snowy fields, summer rural area and any mix inbetween. It would be kinda like the haven bags in Wakfu, but with a live world.
>>378174113
>infinite
Meant finite.

>>378169827
so... Max Payne 2?
dynamic weather with an emphasis on atmospheric effect, specifically misty-ness, a wet-looking world, and rolling fog effects. At the same time, sunny days should really pop with color, while overcast days set a different, dulled mood.
>>378168368
literally this
>soundtrack is a lot of 90's alt rock like Pavement, Built to Spill, Modest Mouse with some American Football and the like sprinkled in for good measure
>sequences where you're shooting the shit in your buddy's crappy car while driving to eat somewhere or go to the mall 'cause what else is there to do
>emphasis on dialogue and conversation, romance options
>weird shit starts happening, you and your buddies investigate
would play the shit out of
>>378168081
Bully 2
>add rain
>add dynamic weather (within reason, it won't snow during summer)
>add events that are specific to each weather type (e.g. mud football in rain, sledding in snow)
>>378174293
I guess, that was a cozy ass game, god tier atmosphere for such an old game.
>>378168081
Rain, tall buildings, neon billboards, smooth jazz soundtrack, and cyberpunk everywhere.
>>378169891
Roman level times, and especially something just a little ahead, could have had lots of games, like pool or even pinball and tactical cockfigthing and strategic cockroach fighting.
But then, who would have really noticed, with fucking ORGIES!!!
>>378168081
A comfy town.
>>378175308
ma nigga
>You're a loli living in a snowy forest
>There's spooky monsters in the woods you gotta avoid/fight while exploring, collecting shit, and meeting people
>Your safe zone is a comfy log cabin with a big fireplace
>As you explore you can add furniture, supplies, games, and even a friend or two
>You need the cabin to restock on items and upgrade, so it's important to keep coming back
>There's a cooking minigame to make tons of delicious, hot meals.
>>378175308
Have you played ODST yet? Because it was made for you
>>378168081
>mystery game set in Alan Wake-esque american smalltown
>you're based out of this comfy lil house
>travel around the country finding clues and solving weird mysteries
Basically Alan Wake as it was originally imagined with some comfy sprinkles.
How about supa mary-o sunshyne twoie?
>>378175505
>>You're a loli
anon pls...
>>378175729
Anon it is fucking imperative I play as a little girl for this to work.
>>378170103
this is my dream game. why are malls so comfy
Here's my personal list of things that sound comfy:
>Being inside a deep underground underground complex like a parking garage or a service tunnel and hearing sounds muffled by the ground above that sound like Mobile Suits German suplexing each other into the ground while a nuke goes off but knowing you're safe because the facility you're in is so deep underground
>At ground level of an office building at night with all the lights off and it's storming profusely outside
>Fireplaces
>Going to a Tolkienian Inn and at night and if it's storming you can hear heavy rain on the rooftops, if it's in the middle of spring the windows are open and you can hear crickets chirping outside
>Learning to speak Mandarin and going to your local shitty health and food safety rating C family owned Chinese restaurant and speaking Mandarin with the waiter, watching him light up with surprise when he learns you speak his language
>http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HealingVat
>Climbing into a Healing Vat alone in your lair with Dragonball Z-esque battle wounds after a hard fight and coming out hours later regenerated
>>378175539
I dont remember there being any neon in that game
>>378168081
a vr game set in a log cabin during a thunderstorm ware your wrapped up in a blanket watching shitty cable tv as the storm rages around you while your safe and warm inside
thats it
thats the game
Instead of posting (shitty) ideas, lets define what makes a game comfy.
>The presence of a looming threat and having a persistent area where you can safely avoid it
>The ability to make that area yours, customize and personalize it
>>378176557
>every so often you can see Jason walking by the window
>>378176824
We already know this stuff you stupid faggot. Try and keep up, please.
>>378168081
I would make it aesthetically like Doom, but it would be an open world RPG. And you can go canoeing through all the streams of slime. And there's be a few high rise town levels, and a giant tree with Cacos living in it.
we posting these or...?
>>378176978
I'm asking for more, contrarian edgelord.
Rural areas
WWII strategy game but you are actually playing as the leader of the country. For example you could actually play as Winston Churchill from a first person point of view and have to be escorted around and attend meetings to plan out your next attack, the whole atmosphere would be very gloomy and cozy.

The maps could be islands or comfy abandoned cities, maybe a multiplayer function for chaos element

Honestly as much as I dislike a lot of things about it, GTA V absolutely nailed the feel of LA. Just walking around at night is fantastic. I am heavily biased because nostalgia but still. And the countryside is pretty good too
>>378168081
Vanishing of ethan carter was pretty comfy. I also felt the noire dlc of bioshock infinite was super comfy. So i'd say a private investigator in a Rural Swedish/English village thats foggy and comfy.

>tfw you accidentally trigger the getting locked in the mall pinball event
Anything that has mist, rain or snow is comfy in my books. I live for the moments in games where the whether cycle switches to the previously mentioned. Especially comfy when it rains on Mother Base in MGSV.
small cozy house, living with your dog and your wife
firewood burning in the fireplace
dog taking a nap on the floor in front of it
sunset and there's a bit of a snowstorm outside
wife helping you put your winter coat on so you can get some fresh bread from the market
way to the market is a cobblestone road by the river, lit with well-maintained gas lamps
marketis a busy alleyway between 2-3 floor tall buildings, crowded with people despite the weather
there are multiple places to buy bread, but you can only choose one
a stray cat follows you on your way out of the market, you can choose to feed it or not
when you get home, weather takes a turn for the worse (but only after you've gone inside)
you are graded on the quality and amount of bread you brought home

1. Start with a city builder
2. Any era, although preferably modern (thinking Sim City 4) to medieval (Anno 1404)
3. After you've built up your city, you can go into a 1st / 3rd person mode and quite literally wander around the city you created, with a variety of interactions (entering buildings, driving around, random events).
I'm legitimately surprised no one has ever really attempted a game like this.
I agree with >>378170103 as well. A mall you can build, wander around in, etc would be grand. In fact, just about any combination of building AND directly interacting / operating with would be comfy the ultimate comfy. A railroad game where you build the rail line and can drive/ride the train would be comfy too.

Grand Theft Auto style game but the game world is a nearly 1:1 recreation of a real world location (within feasibility), not just a similarity like GTA IV was to NYC. Like Oahu, or maybe even just a specific section of a large city like NYC / Paris / London, etc. Real world stores, real world famous architecture, numerous enter able buildings, etc. Essentially it would be wandering around a real world location but being able to do video gamey stuff like run over people and break things and shoot guns anywhere.

Make a game like harvest moon or animal crossing, whenever you go to sleep you have dream sequences depending on what you did that day which would be either minigames or plataforming sections, or even a first person horror sequence.
I don't give a fuck if it's not comfy but I think it'd be rad.
Kemono Friends point-and-click adventure game in the style of the Bionicle flash game

I want to play a 3D detective game set in a small japanese town. With you being able to enter all buildings and have long conversations with each character. Also the protagonist should be able to comment on every object.
>Night time in a big city downtown
>Takes place in a high rise bar/jazz joint with a big windows looking out over the city
>Lightly raining or thundering/lightning outside
>Nothing but different random NPC's playing Miles Davis/Chet Baker esque cool jazz songs for the background music
>Can serve up drinks and talk to random NPCs, learn about their problems or history or whatever and establish relationships
>Walk around the bar/restaurant and chill whenever you'd like
>Play minigames like billiards, card games, tabletop games, etc.
