It's on a console. That means it cannot have difficult movement or aiming, because controllers cannot handle it. Call of Duty is probably the most difficult shooter on a console (fast movement, no autoaim) - that's the level we're talking about here.

For newbies who just starts playing I recommend choosing the hero you find the coolest or that you like the most. If you don't have any particular preference just try them all, the point of the game is to switch heroes during gameplay according to the situation.

none of the characters are particularly hard to learn as long as you understand their role

some are more obvious to figure out (like Reinhardt and Soldier 76) and are universally good in 95% of the situations. Others like Zarya, Ana and Roadhog are a little trickier to figure out but if you get good with them can transform you into a literal 1-man army
