Literally the whole message of MGS1 and MGS2 was that the genes of Big Boss didn't mean shit and that memes > genes. Venom Snake is a memetic clone. How they did it isn't the important part, much like it's not important how they made a fucking trio of fully complete genetic clone in the year 1972. What's important was that he was a clone of Big Boss's "meme", which is why in the end he actually ends up being the perfect clone over Solid , Liquid and Solidus.

The random MSF thing has multiple purposes. The first is for player-insertion for obvious reasons. The second is that Venom is designed to be killed off in MG1 in order to plug the shoddy plot gap. The third is that by making him a random soldier from MSF specifically, it hits even harder the "downfall" of Big Boss. His own man from MSF who he swore his ideology of freedom from being used as a tool by their superiors is now being used and discarded as a tool by his superior. Venom being an MSF soldier makes the whole thing a total betrayal of the Outer Heaven ideal, which is basically the last step into evil for Big Boss since by Peace Walker he's already a cutthroat mercenary warlord with his own nuclear equipped nation-state against the world that recruits kids, being a total hypocrite to his own radical ideology is just the final icing on the cake.

MGSV was a dull and empty game with too much cut content and fucking boring characters, but the Venom Snake idea/character was perfect.

If Mother Base had soldiers like that then why even need Big Boss's genes to make Solid and Liquid? Why not just find more soldiers that Big Boss trained in the middle of the fucking ocean and then clone their genes instead?

The thing about MGS1 is that Kojima knew jackshit about genetics and assumed that recessive genes = bad genes.
When a recessive gene is simply a gene which is masked by a dominant one. So Snake being made by the "recessive genes" of BB meant jackshit about his skills, but Kojima somehow pointed this out at Liquid being completely superior to BB because he had the dominant genes.

Which doesn't even makes sense with Liquid's visual design. If he had the dominant genes from BB, he should have brown hair, and Snake should be the blonde one.

I don't know what you play the series for but that's literally the point of the story. Anyone can be Big Boss, because his reputation far exceeds reality. Imagine being a common mercenary in the 70's or 80's and you hear about how fucking incredible Big Boss is, but half of it is lies and the other half is exaggerated.

With the right skills, the ideology and most importantly the reputation, the role of Big Boss can be played by just another soldier. That was the plan anyway, for someone to continue building the legend of Big Boss.

Did you not play the series? The whole "greatest soldier to ever live" thing was bullshit from it's very origins. He's well above average, but he's CONSTANTLY propped up by propaganda for use by other people's means. Even beating The Boss isn't entirely real, given she threw the fight and he knew as much in Peacewalker.

BB only got a few lines in the game, most of them (and all of them you'd hear before the reveal) were while Medic was in a drug-induced state of post-coma grogginess.
It's the vocal equivalent of having an actor in a movie wear make-up to look old in future scenes. You don't want to break the illusion, which having Hayter do "Ishmael's" dialogue would have done immediately.
Plus they could also have surgically altered his vocal chords.

If you mean big boss "dying" in that game but coming back in metal gear 2, there are way easier ways to justify this (like say, big boss is a cyborg partially, which is completely possible given that MGS4 says doctor madnar made raiden)

or just fucking retcon it entirely and say that big boss escaped somehow, since solid reconnected the shit out of those games already
