So how's your back /v/?

Can the last one really be healthy, I always feel like I shouldn't be keeping my head like that, unspported.
>>
>stop back pain by not using your back.
amazing study.
>>
>>378108632
That's not unsupported- neck's parallel with the force of gravity.
If you pitch it forward too much or hold it back to keep it in line with your spine, THEN it's unsupported.

Now that's some good posture.
>>
>>378108562
I really need a new chair with good back support, after being neet for 3+ years and sitting in awkward positions all day I can feel that my entire ribcage has become crooked, especially when lying down flat on my back. Pls halp, I don't want to become an invalid by my thirties.
>>
>>378108929

But shouldn't it be kept in line with my spine? with head support/cushion?

My posture has never been better. I mostly use my laptop while lying down.
>>
>>378109364
How do you know that your ribcage is different from 3 years ago?
My ribs are concave below my heart and the only problem is that I can't sit in a certain way without minor pain.
>>
Where did the sit up straight meme even come from? Slouching feels good for a reason. Guess it's more of that "if it feels good it must actually be bad for you/evil" we're so fond of as a species.
>>
>>378109693
It strengthens your core to straighten out.

I feel it when laying down or standing up straight against a wall, it's like it's jutting out to the right and I have a tendency to lean forward and to the left when sitting. It's most visible when looking at how different the obliques are (the dip between your hip and ribcage).
It becomes very apparent on lsd

Yeah, I don't doubt that seeing as blood clots are and always have been a real, if unlikely, risk. I don't know how people even manage to sit in the same position for such lengthy periods of time though. I find myself adjusting my position every 10 minutes almost subconsciously.

They are fat, and fat is actually a nice cushioning that keeps you comfy for longer periods.

t. ex-fat who now has to keep changing positions due to his bony ass becoming uncomfortable
>>
>>378112785
Would think that'd be mostly a fat girl privilege. Fat guys just get bellies while girls get butts too, unless we're talking about hugely obese people here.

Though that said my gf is obese and has a huge ass and keeps changing position while sitting anyway despite it obviously being a nice cushion in itself, so I don't know.
>>
What do you even think we're building your lifestyles around here - yoga or video games?
It's basically the same old discussion as about drinking water instead of sugary caffeine drinks: the water is healthier but doesn't make you better at games.
>>

Nah, before 25-30 guys get a lot of distributed fat too, atleast thats what I had.
I definitely could spend a lot more time in one position, weight distributed over a bigger space and all.

Don't buy a chair man, specially not one of those fucking office or gaming or fucking racing chairs, buy yourself a nice armchair just make sure the height is perfect relative to you desk and mouse/keyboard position' you're going to have to measure that shit but who gives a shit.

Just recently I had to retire an armchair I've been using for more than 10 years, this year I went trough two desk chairs and none of them are as comfy as my old airmchair if it wasn't it because I already wasted so much money I would buy one airmchair right away.
>>
>>378113574

>>
>>378114081

Anon, anything will be incomparable to the comfort of a chair you used for TEN years, becuase you are terribly used to it - not because its actually uncomfortable.

I wouldn't buy anything without adjustable armrests.
>>
>>378114183
No, because what >>378113912 said is 100% true.
The two office chair I got fall into this category.
>>
>>378114274

Yeah, $5 folding chairs are the comfiest things ever, obviously thats not completely disregardable anecdotal evidence of nothing.
You are used to one type of chair and bought something completely different.
Sit in that for 10 years and you can re-experience the whole thing.

>>
I love when ergonomic shit makes you look more crippled than those with actual disabilities
>>
>>378114547

Yes, and entirely not to be used as computer chairs, not to have your armrests used for a kb+m, and not made to support your back for hours of looking at a screen.

Just because a chair is made for comfort doesn't mean it makes it good for using a PC, as using a PC is entirely different than just sitting in a chair watching TV or something.

>>
>>378114732
>all that for an 8-button calculator and a 20-year-old ipad

>>378114909

Its not fixating on ergonomy - just realizing that a chair with fixed armrests that cannot be used to support your elbows while you use a PC for hours and hours is not ideal.

You don't need to be some autistic /fit/izen to realize that using a PC with your elbows in the air or in awkward positions forced by your unadjustable chair will lead to negative effects.

You don't need to be an expert in ergonomics to look at
>>378109982
and recognize that sitting right is actually important.

People under 25 always come in these threads to yell about how they abused their bodies and nothing hurts - well guess what, thats what youth is. That abuse will come back to bite you in the ass afterwards though.
