I like how Doom 4's E3 showing and the final product actually showed an increase in lighting and texture quality, which is the total opposite of Ubisoft's games.

he's comparing fucking twitch streamed footage that's compressed as fuck to a much better encoded HD footage. of course the final game looks more crisp. I played the alpha test and it looked fucking nice. basically the main real differences in graphics are artstyle related; the alpha relied a lot on colored dynamic lighting for an atmospheric look and the final game is more cartoonish in comparison, but IMO looks like it is missing something when you compare it to alpha footage. final game imp is retarded. chainsaw kills and some glory kills were sped up in the final release which was an improvement. a myth is that the player speed was changed; this isn't true, the E3 demonstrator played it slow purposely.

it's also worth noting that the E3 foundry fights are pretty short in comparison to the final foundry and the final game in general; the pacing in the E3 foundry is so much better. honestly the design of this level makes me think it was designed before the arena lockdown idea came into development. after all, it is confirmed that lockdowns basically exist in the final game because of playtesters running away from enemies to the end of the level. the E3 demonstration has just the right amount of enemies in each area, kill them and move on. final game locks you down for too long in each arena, gets boring. would love to get my hands on the E3 build but that probably won't be leaked
